My Latest Obsession

I recently discovered a website that sells the CUTEST cloth diapers ever. Just look at this diaper!

Not only do the diapers come in really fun colors, but the mother who makes them will custom embroider them (for an added fee, or course). Fortunately, the size that Adam wears now (Medium Long, he's a tall boy!) will likely fit him until potty training, thanks to the adjustable snaps.

Yes, they are pricey, but I'd like to order a few more for him. Karl thinks I'm a little crazy. I'm not arguing him about that. But just look at some of these cute combinations!

I'd especially like to order this diaper, and have "Ziggy the Zebra" embroidered on it. So cute!
Since we go through a lot of diapers each day, they should be cute, right? Help me convince myself here!

89% of moms admit to letting themselves go...

Have you seen the shampoo commercial that flashes poses of a woman going through her young adult life, from a beautiful bride to a haggard mother? A message announces something like: "89% of moms admit to letting themselves go...take it back!" Then they tell you that by using Suave, or Pantene, or some other shampoo, you can somehow recover your lost beauty. Sadly, I was beginning to identify with the mom on that commercial, and I was beginning to suspect that it would take more than a some sodium-laureth-sulfate to cure my blahs.

So yesterday afternoon, when Karl was released from work early, he graciously pushed Adam's stroller around the Capitol Hill neighborhoods while I sat in a chair at Bubbles, the local haircut chain. The stylist listened closely as I told her that I don't usually blow dry or style my hair, and smiled when I said that my baby pulling my hair this morning made me decide that today was the day for a short cut. When I mentioned that my husband prefers my tresses in their long state, she asked for assurance that I would not be causing any marital strife with her scissors. I assured her that Karl had given his blessing and told her to do something that would "look nice with my face."

45 minutes later, my hair looked like this:

When I got home, I grabbed my old pair of glasses with their chunky brown frames. I had put them away about three years ago, but they work with this cut, so I'm keeping them.

Adam wrapped his arms around my neck this morning, but there was no hair to pull. Victory!

Green Eggs and Ham

I will not eat them, Sam I am!

I made myself a ham sandwich for lunch yesterday. It didn't seem like much so I searched the fridge for something to put on the side. I eyed the Easter eggs that I dyed for Adam's photo shoot and decided to eat one. So, with a grin, I grabbed the green one. Green eggs and ham!

It looked rather Atkins-ish so I added some spinach and berries. Much more balanced.

Easter 2008

We spent Adam's first Easter weekend in Newtown Square, PA, with his Grandpa and Grandma Russo and Aunt Karen. We worshiped at our beloved Tenth Presbyterian in the morning, and spent time together as a family for the afternoon.

Like my outfit?

Wow, is this for me???

Mom, Dad, you're going to have to work hard if you want to top this.

Let me show you how this book works.
