Happy 4 months, Adam!

Friday marked 4 months for little Adam. Sadly, instead of party, he had a doctor's appointment with 5 vaccinations! Four of them were shots and only one was oral. Poor baby! He recovered very quickly. Daddy picked him up when the nurse was done and that was enough to comfort him. I was so glad.

Again, the doctor was pleased with everything he saw. Adam weighs 13lbz, 7 oz and stands 25.5 inches tall. That's a 1 lb, 12 oz gain and 1.5 inch growth over a little less than 2 months.

The doctor said we could introduce foods before Adam's 6 month appointment, if we think he needs it or shows exceptional interest. So far the only interest we see is in things that mommy is drinking. If I have a sip of something he will reach for it. I think it's mainly out of curiosity, not thirst. But I did whip out one of the sippy cups we got as a gift and filled it with 2 oz of water. Now I put him in his high chair when Karl and I are eating dinner and give him the cup. He likes to put the tip in his mouth and to hold the handles. I'm not sure if he has gotten anything out of it yet. The water level has not really diminished. But now he is one step closer to little-boyhood. It's bittersweet.

Adam reached another milestone this morning: he rolled over from his back to his tummy! He has been able to do the reverse for some time. Now he is truly not safe on any elevated surface. I think I might purchase a baby gate for the top of our stairs. I often put him down outside our bathroom to play with some toys while I dress in the morning. Without a baby gate, I'll have to change my habits.

Happy Birthday Adam. Do your mommy and daddy a favor and sleep from 9 to 9. Miss your mommy and daddy and you. Tell them I said hi.
Hugs and kisses

Looks like adam is developing just like daddy and aunt Karen. Both flipped over earlier than expected, with sometimes painful consequences.

As for solid food, try some chicken parm, or linguine with olive oil and garlic, or fishballs. He probably is geneticly predisposed to them :)

Lots of love to the MD Russos
