Have you seen the shampoo commercial that flashes poses of a woman going through her young adult life, from a beautiful bride to a haggard mother? A message announces something like: "89% of moms admit to letting themselves go...take it back!" Then they tell you that by using Suave, or Pantene, or some other shampoo, you can somehow recover your lost beauty. Sadly, I was beginning to identify with the mom on that commercial, and I was beginning to suspect that it would take more than a some sodium-laureth-sulfate to cure my blahs.
So yesterday afternoon, when Karl was released from work early, he graciously pushed Adam's stroller around the Capitol Hill neighborhoods while I sat in a chair at Bubbles, the local haircut chain. The stylist listened closely as I told her that I don't usually blow dry or style my hair, and smiled when I said that my baby pulling my hair this morning made me decide that today was the day for a short cut. When I mentioned that my husband prefers my tresses in their long state, she asked for assurance that I would not be causing any marital strife with her scissors. I assured her that Karl had given his blessing and told her to do something that would "look nice with my face."
45 minutes later, my hair looked like this:
When I got home, I grabbed my old pair of glasses with their chunky brown frames. I had put them away about three years ago, but they work with this cut, so I'm keeping them.
Adam wrapped his arms around my neck this morning, but there was no hair to pull. Victory!

Hi Sus ! Love the cut - it's very sophisticated for you. Looks easy to take care of too. Love, Mom
P.S. Adam looks more like you as a baby when he laughs and smiles.
Love the hair cut. Your mom is right Adam does look like you when he smiles. you and all his realatives. He just looks like me when he's grumpy. I cute my hair this weekend too but not as drastically as yours. Adam can always pull on my hair if he want too. Hope all is well.
